Caroline Reed is a UK artist based in Yorkshire. Focusing mainly on portraiture, her work has a drama and darkness that is visually stunning.
She incorporates ink, paint and mixed media collage into her work resulting in layer upon layer of detail that she cleverly, and subtly brings together in harmony.
As Caroline explains, “My work is an exploration of my experiences as I’ve gone through my life. It’s a way to express what’s hidden beneath the façade of my everyday face that is presented to the world”.
In more recent works, Caroline has produced a series based around the topic of extinction. Again, like her portraits, these works are poignant and evocative, encouraging the viewer to look closer at the hidden layers that she has skilfully built to produce the final work of art.
Caroline has been involved in many exhibitions and her work sits in private collections both in the UK and France.
We are immensely proud to be able to showcase her work.
